How it works

About this calculator

Whether you are comparing job offers, planning your budget, or negotiating a raise, knowing your salary in different time frames is essential. Our salary calculator converts between hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual pay instantly. See what your time is worth at every scale.

The formula, explained simply

We use standard conversion factors: 12 months per year, 52 weeks, 26 biweekly periods, 260 working days (5 days a week for 52 weeks), and 2,080 working hours (40 hours a week for 52 weeks). Enter your annual salary and we show the equivalent at every pay period. The math assumes full-time employment with no unpaid time off.

When you would use this

Job seekers compare salaried offers to hourly gigs. Freelancers figure out what their project rates mean annually. HR professionals use it for compensation planning. Anyone negotiating a raise can see the hourly equivalent of an annual increase. It is also handy for converting your income into a monthly budget.

Frequently asked questions

How many working hours are in a year?
2,080 for standard full-time (40 hours × 52 weeks). Some companies use different numbers, so check your specific situation.
How is monthly salary calculated?
Annual salary divided by 12. Keep in mind some months have more working days than others, so actual pay may vary if you are paid hourly.
Does this account for taxes?
No — this shows gross pay before taxes and deductions. Use our income tax calculator for a net pay estimate.
Salary vs hourly — what is the difference?
Salary is a fixed annual amount regardless of hours worked. Hourly means you get paid per hour, so your pay varies with hours worked.
How do I compare two job offers?
Convert both to the same time frame using this calculator. Also consider benefits, commute, overtime potential, and work-life balance.
